In appreciation of the millennium of Jewish history and accomplishments in Poland, Konstanty Gebert, scholar-in-residence of the Taube Center, has assembled an authoritative timeline of the significant events of Jewish life in Poland, so often limited in modern-day sensibilities as the site of the Holocaust. Beginning with the arrival of Abraham ben Yaakov in the year 960, the timeline follows the rich and complex Jewish history in Poland through the centuries up to the present day. Includes historical and contemporary photos and illustrations to help bring to life the tapestry of Jewish life in Poland.
